Daily the sun shines its luminous light;

finding more comfort on my knees than in my bed...

My wide spread rug, being similar to a chest;

is where I cry away fears & lay burdens to rest...

My forehead kissing the floor in the most intimate way;

is one of the many positions I can be found in when I pray...

Wrapped in GOD's divine love is where I long to be;

so sleeping away these hours isn't an option for me...

The turbulence of this life, without HIM, would be too rough;

for this reason alone I can never praise my LORD enough;

Yet the reasons, HE is worthy, are countless to say the least;

and next to my sincerest worShip GOD is beauty; I am beast...

So since there's no exhausting GOD, this gift I invite you to share;

because what I've found in Tahajud I've been unable to find elsewhere...

I see you though you try to hide;

your very strong, but pious stride;

free of arrogance yet full of pride;

it's clear to see ALLAH is your guide...

As you observe from a lowered gaze;

your humbleness keeps me amazed;

as I watch you give GOD HIS due praise;

I become mesmerized in the best of ways...

Our silent attraction is hard to ignore;

yet we both hesitate, we've been here before;

not wanting to ask but wanting to know more;

we patiently wait for GOD to open the door..

Are you the missing link I seek to find;

can you carry a heart as heavy as mine;

will my yin and your yang evenly align?

to have my wali inquire I'm so inclined...

Now as I strive to give GOD back my full attention;

as a single righteous believer, is it also your mission;

Interest is a prerequisite for marriage all will agree;

When it comes to poetry you can call me Plain Jane;

I'm very simplistic and to the point, no metaphors about the rain;

99.9% of the time I'm praising my LORD's name;

the rest of it is my attempt to keep from going insane...

No need to read between them, I'll put it all on the line;

Call it a flaw or my best attribute, but I freely speak my mind;

I've learned to be more cautious, a gift that came with time;

but it's not my duty to make you happy the rule is that I be kind;

Now I can do nothing less than uphold and deliver the truth;

my only weapon against falsehood is sound indisputable proof;

I was born muslim, but future mate that's not a requirement for you...

I have three daughters, two are still at home,

and me not being actively present I'll never condone...

I am a community outreach worker, home schooler, and mother full time...

My ultimate goal is saving myself & family from the fire by serving the DIVINE...

I strive to be a vehicle that encourages and implements change;

my favorite pastime, is keeping my tongue wet with my LORD's name...

I bow down where they bow down in praise of the ALMIGHTY...

I claim no specific jummat, tareeqah, or madh-hab and have no intentions of doing so...

Tauheed is my requirement, so where it is established I make it my business to go...

I am striving to renew myself, mind body and soul;

yes it is a struggle, but I know ALLAH is in full control...

Please note, I don't have a wali, I have a wali committee;

to help guide are 4 couples in addition to my family...

My ideal partner is striving on the path that leads to the Most High;

He is humble & strong enough to submit when his heart inclines him to cry...

He is not confined by one community or of any particular sect per say;

to bow down where believers bow down is this brother's spiritual way...

Providing financially is not a burden for him, it's his joy to seek GOD's pleasure,

and the degree he has over me isn't abused because he's aware I'm a treasure...

Increasing his knowledge, then sharing are attributes he reflect,

while our taqwa, faith & honor he constantly seeks to protect...

His desire to be physically active is yet another attractive trait;

for I'm a sister seeking assistance in releasing her extra weight...

Though my home is my domain, captive he doesn't hold me;

he allows me to actively contribute to our inner & outer community...

Extremism is a reflection he has no desire to see in himself;

balance is the formula he uses to maintain his spiritual health...

Sura Ar Rahman being memorized as part of my dowry made his heart smile,

because denying any of our LORD's many favors is certainly not his style...

His need for immediate offsprings has already been fulfilled...

yet about assisting with the guidance of my girls, he's more than thrilled...

Not combining our homes completely is a concept he wholeheartedly embraces;

out of respect for my daughters modesty he sees the wisdom in us having two places...

This is a short description of Amelah El-Amin's ideal muslim man;
